A Gluten Free Pantry – Sauces
Oyster Sauce Gluten Free
A luscious and versatile savoury sauce made from oyster extracts with sugar and salt. Choose brands that have been thickened with cornstarch, such as Megachef. A handy sauce in marinades, soups and stir fries. Keep refrigerated once opened.
Thai Fish Sauce
Usually gluten free, fish sauce is made from the liquid of salted anchovies. Sure, it smells a little intimidating, however this ancient sauce will add unique savoury richness to your dish. It’s useful in marinades, salads, soups, curries and stir fries. Keep in a cool dry place. Do not refrigerate, as the salt can crystallise.
Soy Sauce Gluten Free
Finding a tasty gluten free soy sauce has been almost impossible until now. Megachef’sgluten free soy sauce is delicious without being too salty. An easy-going sauce that works hard for you in a marinade, as a salad dressing, or to flavour soups and stir fries. Store in your pantry.
Kecap Manis Gluten Free
Classic Asian brand now offers an easy-to-use gluten free kecap manis that we use nightly at our shop. This sweet and thick soy sauce is perfect for basting, roasting and grilling. It’s awesome in a marinade and a must for stir fries. Pop the bottle in the fridge once opened.
Used in many marinades, sauces and glazes, this sweet and almost syrupy cooking wine is brewed from white sticky rice. Remember, it’s best for cooking, not drinking. Keep refrigerated once opened.
Siracha Garlic & Chilli Sauce
Originating from the Siracha province of Thailand, this world famous sauce has the power to make anything taste good. It’s the perfect condiment, bringing sour, sweet and spicy accents into any dish. Try adding a splash of Siracha in dressings, marinades, glazes and stir fries. It will live happily in the fridge until empty.
